The Eight Planets of the Solar System
Our Solar System has eight planets, divided into two main categories:
- Inner Planets (Rocky Planets): Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars
- Outer Planets (Gas Giants): Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune
Terrestrial (Rocky) Planets
🌎 Mercury: The smallest and closest planet to the Sun.
🌎 Venus: The hottest planet with thick clouds of sulfuric acid.
🌎 Earth: The only known planet with life.
🌎 Mars: The Red Planet with a possibility of ancient life.
Gas Giants (Jovian Planets)
🪐 Jupiter: The largest planet with a massive storm (Great Red Spot).
🪐 Saturn: Famous for its stunning rings made of ice and rock.
🪐 Uranus: Rotates on its side, has a faint ring system.
🪐 Neptune: The farthest planet with the fastest winds in the Solar System.
The Search for Exoplanets
Beyond our Solar System, scientists have discovered thousands of exoplanets. Some of them might be habitable, raising the possibility of alien life!
